One Air
One Air Aviation Academy is a flight training school located in Málaga, Spain. It has a base next to the Málaga Airport (LEMG).
The programs offered by One Air are the following:
1. Integrated Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) Course
- Integrated ATPL (A) Program: This flagship program is a full-time, comprehensive course designed to guide students from zero flight experience to obtaining a Frozen ATPL. The curriculum encompasses 795 hours of theoretical instruction and 205 hours of practical flight training. Upon completion, graduates are equipped with a Commercial Pilot License (CPL), Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (MEIR), and have passed all ATPL theoretical examinations, positioning them for careers as First Officers in commercial airlines.
2. Modular Training Programs
For students seeking flexibility, One Air offers modular courses that allow pilots to progress at their own pace:
- Private Pilot License (PPL): This foundational course enables students to fly single-engine aircraft privately. It includes 100 hours of theoretical knowledge and a minimum of 45 hours of flight training.
- ATPL Theory: Tailored for PPL holders aiming to advance their careers, this course covers 14 subjects over 650 hours, preparing students for the ATPL theoretical examinations.
- Commercial Pilot License (CPL): Aimed at pilots aspiring to fly commercially, this course involves 25 hours of flight training, focusing on advanced maneuvers and commercial flight operations.
- Multi-Engine Piston Rating (MEP): This rating allows pilots to operate multi-engine aircraft and includes 6 hours of flight training on multi-engine aircraft.
- Instrument Rating (IR): Essential for flying under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR), this course comprises 50 hours of simulator training and 15 hours of flight training.
- Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (MEIR): A combined course providing both MEP and IR, totaling 55 hours of training.
- Night Rating: A short course offering 5 hours of flight training, enabling pilots to operate aircraft during nighttime conditions.
3. Advanced Training Courses
- MCC (Multi-Crew Cooperation) Course: Spanning 25 hours of theoretical instruction and 20 hours of simulator training, this course focuses on the dynamics of operating in a multi-crew cockpit, emphasizing communication, decision-making, and teamwork.
- APS MCC (Airline Pilot Standards MCC): An enhanced version of the standard MCC, this 40-hour simulator course aligns with EASA’s latest standards, providing in-depth exposure to airline operations and procedures.
- JOC (Jet Orientation Course): Designed to bridge the gap between general aviation and jet operations, this course includes 16 hours of simulator training, familiarizing pilots with jet aircraft characteristics and high-altitude operations.
4. Flight Instructor Courses
- Flight Instructor (FI) Course: For pilots aiming to impart their knowledge to others, this course involves 125 hours of theoretical training and 30 hours of flight instruction, covering teaching techniques, student evaluation, and flight training methodologies.
- Class Rating Instructor (CRI): Focused on training pilots to instruct on class-rated aircraft, this course includes both theoretical and practical components.
- Instrument Rating Instructor (IRI): Prepares pilots to teach instrument flying, encompassing 25 hours of theoretical knowledge and 10 hours of flight training.
- Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI): Enables pilots to instruct on multi-engine aircraft, with a curriculum tailored to the complexities of multi-engine operations.
5. Type Rating Courses
While One Air primarily focuses on initial pilot training, it also offers type rating courses in collaboration with partner organizations. These courses qualify pilots to operate specific aircraft types, combining theoretical knowledge with simulator and flight training. Interested candidates should contact One Air directly for information on available type rating programs.
6. Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Training
- Drone Pilot Course: Recognizing the growing importance of unmanned aviation, One Air provides comprehensive drone pilot training, covering both the Open and Specific categories as per EASA regulations. The course includes theoretical instruction, practical flight training, and preparation for the necessary certifications.
7. Airline Preparation Programs
- Airline Interview Preparation: This program offers tailored coaching for pilots preparing for airline selection processes. It includes simulator assessments, technical knowledge reviews, and guidance on HR interview techniques.
- English Language Proficiency (ICAO Level 4/5/6): To meet the linguistic demands of international aviation, One Air provides courses aimed at achieving the required ICAO English proficiency levels, integrating aviation-specific language training.
8. Customized Training Solutions
One Air is adept at designing bespoke training programs to meet the specific needs of individual pilots or aviation organizations. Whether it's refresher courses, skill enhancement, or specialized training modules, One Air can tailor its offerings accordingly.
One Air provides a modern training fleet:
- Aircraft Fleet: The academy operates a fleet of Diamond Aircraft, including the DA20, DA40, and DA42 models. These aircraft are equipped with Garmin G1000 glass cockpits, providing students with experience on modern avionics systems akin to those found in contemporary airliners.
- Simulators: One Air utilizes advanced simulators such as the Alsim ALX and Diamond Simulation FNPT II devices. These simulators offer high-fidelity training environments for various aircraft types and flight conditions, enhancing the realism of the training experience.
- Training Center: Located at the Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport, the training center boasts modern classrooms, briefing rooms, and student facilities, all designed to foster an optimal learning environment.
